Celebrate with us as Fort Ligonier Days enters its 58th year in 2017. The 3-day fall festival commemorates the Battle of Fort Ligonier, a key engagement of the French and Indian War fought on October 12, 1758.


Crafts Galore

Over 200 craft booths in 5 locations are linked by shuttle bus service. The five official craft lots are: Fairfield lot, Loyalhanna lot, Mellon Park lot, Municipal lot, and Train Station lot. Talented artisans will display and sell handmade items including wood furniture, candles, dried flowers, paintings & prints, stained glass, jewelry, leather, baskets, pottery, metal-work, and more!

Delicous Food

Over 30 food booths located around the Diamond and at other locations will be serving all varieties of food: roast beef sandwiches, pizza, funnel cakes, pies, crab cakes, gobs & cookies, french fries, pierogies, authentic gyros, hot sausage, burgers, apple dumplings, cheese steaks!

Community Parade

Don't miss the elaborate and entertaining parade that proceeds down Main Street around Ligonier's picturesque Diamond at 11:00 AM on Saturday. The parade will include historic units, floats, costumed characters, the shrine units and special guests, including local TV personalities, high school and college bands. This is a spectacular part of Fort Ligonier Days!

Reenactment

On the grounds of the Fort you will find a living history encampment showing frontier life, military tactics, drills, cannon firing, ceremonies, Highlanders, redcoats, French troops, frontier men and women, Indians and music from 1758. Visit the official website of Fort Ligonier for additional information. A favorite at the fort is the re-enactment of the Battle of Fort Ligonier at 2 & 4 pm Saturday and 1:30 & 3:30 pm Sunday.

Fun & Entertainment

Free outdoor entertainment includes something for everyone: Celtic, Country Rock, Brass, Oldies, tribute bands, and big names from the '50s and '60s! Over thirty community food booths line the Diamond and other locations throughout town. The variety will satisfy the hungriest of appetites! Sit-down meals are available at several local churches.

Mission

The primary purpose of Fort Ligonier Days, Inc. shall be to organize and coordinate the community festival activities known as Fort Ligonier Days and to provide an opportunity for benevolent institutions to raise funds to support their activities. Emphasis shall be placed on communicating the history of the community, especially in the latter half of the eighteenth century. This shall include the reasons for the establishment and existence of Fort Ligonier, examples of the hardships endured by early soldiers and settlers, and illustrations of the patriotism of our ancestors. Additionally, the festival will provide a means to promote the community spirit and cultural heritage of the Ligonier Valley, which continues to shine through small-town shops, vendors, and various civic and faith-based organizations.
